[quote title=”Why do a doctorate” Text=”I desire to serve the Lord Jesus as a resource in the academic and theological community, to train a new generation of servants of God who are passionate about spreading the Gospel in the French-speaking world and equipped to do so in a culturally relevant manner.” name=”” name_sub=””]
So this is why after completing a Bachelor of Theology program with SEMBEQ (2011), I continued with a Master of Theology program with SEMBEQ, in the area of apologetics (2018). Since then, I have been teaching the apologetics course at SEMBEQ and involved with the Graduate Research Seminar.
I wish to continue my theological studies at the doctoral level to be better equipped to serve the Lord Jesus. After 1 year in the Master’s program, my application for a fast-track to the Ph.D. program was accepted and so I started the Doctor of Theology (Ph.D.) program in August 2020 at Saint-Paul University in Ottawa.
Since then, I have been pursuing my doctoral studies at a rate of 3 days/week. I still work as a pastor at église le Sentier for the equivalent of 2 days/week, in order to contribute to the advancement of the Gospel in my local church as well as in the province of Quebec.
My salary from the church having been reduced to 2 days/week, I rely on other sources of income to support my family and pay the tuition fees for my doctoral studies. So far, the Lord Jesus has provided for all my needs through various doctoral scholarships that I have been privileged to receive, as well as through financial partners who have committed to giving regularly or spontaneously to support my study project.
My newsletter is sent every three months and contains a summary of what God is doing in my life and in this project. It also contains several thanksgiving subjects as well as specific prayer requests.
